Urgent Kitchen is a from-scratch kitchen and my lunch, a BBQ pulled pork sandwich served with fries and home made sweet pickles, was delicious. They even make their own catsup, which was also delicious! I swear I had half the bottle with my fries! My lunch companion had shrimp fettuccini, that she enjoyed, as well.
Absolutely FANTASTIC! I swung by earlier today after my college class to get my husband some lunch to drop off and bring some food for my toddler and I. My son LOVED his chicken. My steak tacos were great (the ONLY thing that I wish would be added is some cheese, but I put some on at home, so it was fine), and my husband and devoured his cheeseburger. The corn was amazing, too. I brought some for my mom, too. She loved it. The cashier was SO friendly. I think his name was Julian? Sweetest person ever! Will 100% be back very soon! My husband is already talking about it!
When I first saw Urban Kitchen on Google Maps, I was a little skeptical. The name made me think it might be an Americanized version of ethnic cuisine—but that wasn’t the case at all. I ordered the Birria tacos with a side of cilantro rice, and both were excellent. The tacos tasted just like something you’d get from an authentic Mexican restaurant—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Hats off to the chef! I was very impressed and highly recommend this place.
5 star “fast food”. Everything we tried was amazing!!! We had steak tacos that came with Elote and an apple pecan salad. The chef came from the back to answer our menu questions. Everything was made fresh to order and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was beautiful and the dine in experience was lovely. The only reason I call this “fast food” is because you stand to order and clean up after yourself. Also it’s pretty fast for being cooked fresh and from scratch. This was a wonderful dining experience. I will be coming back often.
The food (salad, fish tacos, chips/guac) and service were great, but we were also there at an non-peak time ~2pm, so we had undivided attention.
Not far off the interstate and we were enthusiastic about the menu. We had the fresh quac and chips, the braised beef, a quesadilla, and a burger with fried egg. Everything was delicious! The braised beef was so tender and loved the slight tang of the wine sauce. The burger was perfect - not too big to get in your mouth but still meaty. The place was clean and spacious. Next visit we want to try the birria queso tacos!
Amazing place! Came here for dinner and everything was outstanding. Fresh ingredients, beautiful plating, and generous portions. Service was excellent and the prices were very affordable. All of our meals were under $15, and my cocktails were under $10! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended! Located just minutes from Joliet mall.
Excellent food, the picture doesn't do it justice. Onion rings and fried cauliflower were crispy and flavorful respectively without being greasy. The fish tacos and ribs had clean, saucy flavor. Pasta disappeared immediately after taking picture. Interior decor is very well designed. Staff was courteous and efficient. Would come back if in the area again.
5 stars for all of it - food, service, ambiance, and prices! I had the fish tacos (awesome) with corn-in-a cup, my friend had the Urban Burger, which was stacked so high, I had to giggle a bit :-) A nice, chill atmosphere, nice low key music, not too loud. There's an outdoor patio as well, though we chose indoor. I think this place is new-ish, so maybe a bit undiscovered, as it was not busy on a Saturday.
Cute little place right off hwy 30/Plainfield rd. If you blink, you'll miss it. Wide variety of choices on the menu. Good food and great prices! Definitely worth a try. Good for a super low-key date night spot. Not crowded, not loud.
